This is an extensive life history interview with artist William P. Welsh, and it covers his early days in Lexington through his time in World War I, Chicago (in the 1920s and 30s), World War II, and after. He also discusses his art career and his experiences with high society from Chicago to Japan. These eighteen interviews with the artist were edited into a book published by the William P. Welsh Society (Lexington, Ky.) in 1982, William P. Welsh, Painter and Patriot: An Oral History.
